The Blogging Goals of a Botanical Artist

Goal
- noun: 1.the result or achievement toward which effort is directed; aim; end. 2. finish.

My blogging goals:

1. Ultimately, to bring my art work out of my home, into the homes of others.
How? By giving my art words: Describing it. Revealing its origins, motivations, and inspiration.

2. To make connections:
- with others who appreciate the simplicity and beauty of the plants God created.
- with other artists

3. To document my journey as an artist, by having a visual record of my art to look back upon, along with the comments/reflections of others.

Elizabeth,

I love this phrase: "to bring my art work out of my home, into the homes of others." Such a clear and concise expression of the artist's intention. Well, yours and mine at least. Thanks.

I also love the photo you posted with this post. I want to get better at providing good visuals in my blog. Since my take months to create, I can't keep posting pictures of my own works, so I want to get better at choosing visually inspiring and relevant images... and choosing and inserting them quickly ;-) You've made a great choice here and inspired me to do better. Thanks!

Leslie,

Thank you for your kind words. I usually try to post a picture of my work, or a picture of something going on in my life, but every once in awhile I treat my self to a picture from www.istockphoto.com

The array and quality of their pictures are amazing, and for a blog the smallest low resolution option works just fine, and ends up being only about $1.00 per picture.

Best wishes to you in the Triage class! I look forward to getting to know you and your art better!

Elizabeth, great job! I agree that you should focus on using photos of your own work (upcoming lesson!) whenever possible. But I see it as a break, which is a nice resting point. I also see that you've done a great job posting images of your art on the blog. Congratulations!

Thank you for the encouragement Alyson. This class is challenging, but challenging is good, and I'm learning a lot!
